Cookies

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

No banner, and that's not an oversight. MotoReet uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Our audience measurement sets no cookie and collects no personal data. The law only requires consent for what goes beyond what is strictly necessary: we don't go beyond it, so there is nothing to accept or refuse.

What is actually stored

Not all of these are "cookies" in the technical sense: most are local storage, which stays in your browser and is never sent automatically with each request.

What it isWhat it's forHow long
Session cookie (mr_session) Keeping you signed in. Without it, you'd have to type your password again every time. Strictly necessary, unreadable by the page's scripts, only sent to MotoReet 30 days, or until you sign out
Display preferences Remembering your filters, the "Within 40 km / Everywhere" choice, the list or map view Until you change them
Drafts and app state Not losing a ride you're creating if you close the tab Until it's published or abandoned

Our audience measurement

We want to know how many people visit the site and what interests them. For that, we use Umami, installed on our own server, in Europe. In practice:

That's why there is no banner: there is nothing to authorise.

What we don't use

If that were ever to change, a consent banner would appear before anything is set, and this page would be updated first.

Third-party services you trigger yourself

Some services are only contacted if you take the corresponding action:

Erase everything

Signing out erases the session cookie and the data kept on this device. You can also clear the site's storage from your browser settings - you'll simply be signed out.
